The upcoming release of VA Smalltalk will be including a new cryptography feature. VA Smalltalk will offer a high-level binding around OpenSSL’s crypto shared library. I will be discussing how this was done to maximize safety and security, and how our SSL/TLS support has been overhauled to fit on top.
I’ll also be demonstrating the numerous cryptographic primitives that will be available such as message digests, message authentication codes, symmetric ciphers, public/private key support, key agreement, digital signatures, digital enveloping, secure RNG and more.
Additionally, I will be showing our crypto stream capability, which allows for running these various primitives in a pipelined fashion for maximum performance
Before joining Instantiations in May of 2011, Seth spent 10 years developing software for the U.S. government. During this time he worked in a variety of domains to include stochastic simulation, operations research, grid computing and link analysis. Seth is currently the Engineering Director at Instantiations focusing on product development of VA Smalltalk. He has a B.S. in Computer Science and an M.S. in Software Engineering.
